August 2, 2005 ~ Championship Preview

Atlanta to Face off Against Sacramento for IWFL National Championship!

On August 6, 2005 the two best teams in Women's Football will take the field to see who will earn the right to be the 2005 IWFL National Champion. The Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Xplosion makes their first trip to the big show to take on the defending two time IWFL National Champion Sacramento Sirens.

The Sacramento Sirens took their conference title last week with a win over the Pacific Northwest Division Champion Tacoma Majestics. While the Atlanta Xplosion earned their spot by battling the legendary New York Sharks to take home the Eastern Conference title.

"This will be a fantastic match up," said IWFL COO Kezia Disney, "the Western Conference powerhouse versus the new generation of Eastern Conference domination. The IWFL has set high standards for the level of competition and Atlanta has definitely hit the mark. This team can match Sacramento in roster depth, skill, speed, and coaching. Because of the equality between these two teams, this game will definitely be the toughest match up ever seen in our sport."

The ATLANTA XPLOSION enters the IWFL Championship game August 6th in Manchester, New Hampshire, to take on the Sacramento Sirens (12-0). Sacramento is defending its championship for its third consecutive year.

Don’t wait to get the score on the internet, hear the game live and get all the details as they happen!

The game will be broadcast live over the radio on station KEDU 102.3FM in New Mexico and over the Internet at www.kedu.us. The pre-game show starts at 6:45pm (EDT), with the kick-off at 7PM (EDT).
