ATLANTA XPLOSION FOOTBALL PLAYERS BRING OFF FIELD SMILES TO SICK CHILDREN AT THE HUGHES SPALDING CHILDRENS HOSPITAL ON DECEMBER 17 AT TURNER FIELD IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA

(December 15, 2005 - Atlanta, GA) The Atlanta Xplosion, member of the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL), and one of the South's most successful full-contact, all-female football team, are teaming up to visit Hughes Spalding Children Hospital this Saturday, December 17, 2005, alongside with the Atlanta Falcons to deliver toys and to sign autographs for the children at Hughes Spalding.

Hughes Spalding Hospital houses Georgia's only poison center and offers 28 specialty clinics, where thousands of children are treated each year for allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, feeding disorders, Sickle Cell apnea, autism and Cerebral Palsy.

"This is an event we love to be a part of last year we were the first team to ever take the time to visit Hughes Spalding kids these young hearts loved the ladies and were so excited in which, we made it a priority to make sure the ladies have the opportunity to make a difference once again" says Team Owner, Takela Corbitt.

The Atlanta Xplosion field goal kicker, Jessalyn Martin, who is ranked #1 in the IWFL says "To be a part of this for me is to see the smiles on their face because someone took the time out to be with them. It's important for them to know someone does care about them. For them to see that women play football...shows that they can do anything in life they want to do and there are no boundaries."

The Atlanta Xplosion enthusiastically encourages anyone in and around the Atlanta area on Saturday, December 17, 2005 to come to Turner Field, and meet its dynamic players. Email manager@atlantaxplosion.com or takela@atlantaxplosion.com.
