Tampa Roster Size Affects Play In South Atlantic Division

Austin, TX - The Independent Women's Football League announced today that due to concerns over low roster size the Tampa Terminators have suspended operations for the 2006 season.

The Terminators experienced several injuries to key player personnel in recent games that have prompted the sweeping action taken earlier today. Tampa team management and player leadership are working hand in hand with their sister teams in the South Atlantic Division and IWFL league management to resolve the challenges the team is currently facing.

"This is truly an unfortunate situation," said IWFL Chief Operating Officer Kezia Disney. "However, the IWFL member teams have always put player safety above all else as their number one priority. The action taken today by the Tampa team, while sad for those remaining Tampa players, is the prudent choice and one that is in the best interest of the athletes safety," added Disney.

The remaining Tampa Terminators regular season games scheduled will not be played and the two games will be recorded as forfeit wins for Atlanta and Miami respectively.
