"Darkside" Takes the Crown at the 1st Annual Phil Beniamino Red and Black Intersquad Classic
The Atlanta Xplosion Defense "Darkside" took the crown in the First Annual Phil Beniamino Classic
held this past Saturday April 14th at Roswell High School. The game gave fans an opportunity to
get a sneak peak at the defending 2006 National Champions as they prepare to open up at Baton
Rough on April 28th.
The annual scrimmage game honors Atlanta Xplosion founder and championship head coach Phil Beniamino
and his family for starting the Atlanta Xplosion organization. Phil, his wife Denise Beniamino, and
their daughter Kylie Beniamino were presented awards for their contributions to the organization
and for thier continued support of the team.
"I am happy to have played a part in giving these women an opportunity to pursue their dreams of
playing football. This organization is apart of my family and always will be,"stated former
head coach Phil Beniamino.
"Phil and his family have given so much to this team and has made a difference in so many
players lives. He has taught us so much and his contibution to this organization is
immeasurable. The Beniamino's will always have a place in the Atlanta Xplosion family,"
stated owner Takela Corbitt.
It is time to get ready for Atlanta Xplosion football and the team has their home-opener
on May 5th at 6:00pm at Roswell High School. Season tickets are now available for purchase.
