ATLANTA XPLOSION Participates in Career Day at Hambrick Elementary
March 21, 2006 - The Atlanta Xplosion proudly hosted a booth at Hambrick Elementary
School's Career Day. Over 865 kids from Pre-kindergarten through 6th Grade
attended the event. More than 40 presenters including a female rodeo rider,
law enforcement officers, firefighters, truck drivers, doctors, nurses, a
chef, an Olympic medalist, and a radio DJ were among the participants
alongside the Atlanta Xplosion. Students were able to interview the presenters
and learn about various career opportunities, and were treated to the
hands-on experience of playing women's professional football. Students were able
to dress out in shoulder pads, a jersey, and helmet and had their photo taken,
providing them a memento of their experience. The Atlanta Xplosion continues to
support and inspire our youth through career-building and mentoring programs.
The Xplosion is a member of the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL), and the
South's most successful, full-contact, all-female football team. The Xplosion
finished the 2005 regular season undefeated (10-0) on its way to a heartbreaking
