ATLANTA XPLOSION KICK OFF THE 4TH SEASON WITH THEIR FIRST OFFICIAL PRACTICE OF THE YEAR
(January 25, 2006 - Atlanta, GA) The Atlanta Xplosion begins their 4th
season with lots of promise as they hold their first official practice at
Campbell High School located in Smyrna, Georgia on January 28 and January
29, 2006.
As the South's most successful full-contact, all-female football team,
The Atlanta Xplosion are hungry and ready to defeat the defending IWFL
champions, the Sacramento Sirens. In 2005, the Atlanta Xplosion narrowly
missed victory as the Sirens claimed a three point win in the
championship game. If this year's rookie camp is any indication of
the upcoming season, the 2006 championship game will have a very
different outcome.
According to Head Coach Phil Beniamino, "This is an exciting year
this year we had a great turnout , every year you lose a couple of
girls for retirement, injuries, pregnancies or for whatever reason,
this year we got more than we expected we are so excited. This is a
different team with a great attitude we had a phenomenal "Rookie Camp"
last weekend totally outstanding. I am definitely looking forward in
bringing home the Championship to Atlanta for the Xplosion."
Owner, Takela Corbitt who is also a veteran player on the team,
replies "Wow…with more than 35 new recruits and a number of veterans
returning, we have the right balance of youth and experience - a
combination sure to produce a winning season in 2006."
