The Atlanta Xplosion will hosting open tryouts February 4, 2012 at 12pm. There is a registration fee of $50 you will receive professional training and t-shirt from the X team. Registration begins at 11:30am. Tryouts are open to any ladies 18+. Open tryouts will be held at The Factory 2505 Newpointe Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA 30043. The Ravens defeat the Carolina Phoenix to claim the 2011 T1 Easter Conference Title. The team prepares to meet the California Quake to play for the IWFL World Championship.

The Ravens defeated the Houston Energy in their 3rd matchup of the season to claim the T1 Mid-South Division Title and advance to Round 2 of the playoffs where they will challenge the Carolina Phoenix.

The Atlanta Ravens hit a franchise record high for attendance Saturday, at Tara Stadium in Clayton County with over 2,000 fans at their Home Opener. The Atlanta Ravens battled the Chattanooga Locomotion. It was a great game to watch as a fan. The Ravens went ahead to win with their first defensive shut out of the season 34-0.

The franchise is looking to increase the number of fans this week so get your tickets now! $7 for adults. Kids 6 and under are FREE! Group discounting available! The Ravens kick off the season in grand fashion with a WIN over the Houston Energy at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Houston 15-35.

Mareno Philyaw is a 31 year native of College Park, GA. He graduated from North Clayton High School in 1996 and attended Troy University where he graduated in 2000 with a degree in Business Administration. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft. After suffering a knee injury his NFL career was cut short. Coach Mareno also spent time in the AFL1, AFL2, Candia and NIFL.

Coach Mareno married his high school sweetheart Micki and they have been married for eight years. Both work in the field of education helping to educate children and helping them to be the best they can be. Mareno has coached high school as well as middle school football. He has many years of football experience playing and coaching and is looking forward to helping bring back a championship to the Xplosion football team. Mareno is currently working on his master's in education while his wife is pursuing her doctorial degree.

The Xplosion/Ravens congratulate Coach Mareno on his new position and look forward to great things this 2011 season.

The landscape of the Atlanta Xplosion will undergo several changes this year, including the upcoming conversion of its name. Officials of GTA Management Group are making this change to rebrand the team and focus on the team image. The Ravens are planning to emulate the Arena Football model and use this style of football to manage the success of the organization. In coexisting with the Falcons, the Hawks and the Thrashers, which are all bird mascots the group felt it will be a great business decision to grow as an organization. You will begin to see information with the Atlanta Ravens logo during the transition; however the name the Atlanta Xplosion will also be present. The team will be channeling all their information through the Atlanta Xplosion site at this time. We will continue to make other changes throughout the 2011 season. We look forward to many great seasons to come. We want to thank all our fans for their support and we would like you to continue to follow the team as the Atlanta Ravens.

The Atlanta Xplosion Women's Football players, coaches, management, etc. are attending McKendree Elementary's Fun Run/Walk today to walk and talk with students, to share Xplosion stories, talk about football and the team and sign autographs. We are looking ahead to having an Xciting year this season!

The Atlanta Xplosion proudly announces a HUGE partnership with the Women Achievers Association. The Xplosion team will be guests at the 2011 Teen Summit "Just for Girls", March 20, 2011, participating in their first project empowering girls 7 to 17 speaking on Images and Leadership.
